Agriculture Business

Fort Lewis College has a deep, rich history in agriculture. When the college began in 1927, it was known as a branch of Colorado State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts. A few years later, Fort Lewis offered a vocation education program for young men who were interested in agriculture and farm building construction.

Fort Lewis College has grown considerably in the past 80 years. We now feature a competitive business school that holds the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.

An agriculture focus in Business Administration combines the strengths of these two admired programs. With this focus, you'll consider a wide range of ideas. Domestic and international trade and technology are a few in the growing agriculture industry. By focusing on agricultural business, you can prepare for ag finance, product development, marketing and distribution.

Durango also offers a strong 4-H program with some college students who are officers in the state 4-H organization. While attending Fort Lewis, you'll work with community organizations such 4-H and with agriculture businesses. You can even take classes abroad as a part of your coursework.

Fort Lewis College is a smaller college than the universities. Many students feel comfortable in a place where they know their professors and classmates. Durango still has strong roots in agriculture.
