At Fort Lewis, you can pursue your passion for reading and writing. And then begin an English teaching career after you graduate -- a field that is seeing nearly a 100 percent job placement rate.
About a third of our English majors also pursue licensing to teach in 7th through 12th grades. To prepare you, we offer high-quality instruction. By the time you complete our program, you'll be able to teach in all standard areas of literature, language and composition, as well as specialized areas such as reading, drama, and journalism.
You can take part in our annual Teacher Education Career Fair. We attract more than 30 school districts from Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas, among other areas. They come to interview our students to fill their teaching positions.
We'll be working with you all the way to obtain your Colorado license and prepare you for an English teaching position. Ask our faculty about our teacher education program.
