Come with ideas in mind. In your very first class, you create a new business in the New Business Venturing course. Frequently, a successful community entrepreneur teaches the class.
You research a business, write a business plan for your new venture and then operate your business. You'll experience the entrepreneurial culture through field projects, internships, business creativity and acquiring skills linked to innovation and planning.
You'll even work with the Small Business Development Center at Fort Lewis College. It provides businesses with assistance, training, information, and leadership. It fosters the successful growth and development of small businesses in Southwest Colorado.
Unlike some larger universities, you won't need to wait to begin taking classes related to entrepreneurship. You can begin the day you set foot on campus. You'll also work as a team with quality doctorate faculty, and not graduate students.
