Literature

Fort Lewis College reaches out to students with an intellectual spark. Students who feel a passion for literature ignite our campus. If you love the power of books, you'll find fulfillment in a Literature minor.

More than 20 literature courses fill our classrooms. You'll discover African, Native American, British, Early Modern, the Novel, Classical, and from Medieval to 20th Century literature courses. You can also study the linguistic and literary history of Western and non-Western cultures, and the relationship between cultures found in literary works.

A Literature minor can satisfy your desire to be moved and transformed by literature, especially if you plan to major in another subject. Literature will also strengthen your liberal arts education. You'll explore ideas, improve critical thinking and problem solving.
