Political Science

When it comes to a degree in Political Science, Fort Lewis College offers a unique model program. You'll see how politics works, impacts social change and shapes our communities. And you'll examine in-depth the region's unique cultural, historic and ecological resources from a social science point of view.

Political Science majors are working as interns with congressional representatives such as Rep. John Salazar, U.S. Senators, members of the Colorado General Assembly, judges and other legal professionals and with numerous political interest groups. Students also have the opportunity to work as aides to House and Senate members during the Colorado General Assembly.

Fort Lewis College is an alternative to the big universities. We provide personalized, hands-on teaching. We'll also challenge you to stretch your leadership skills, seek out and create new information, think critically, identify problems no one else has seen before and propose solutions.

Our students go onto graduate or law school. Some work for the government or public officials. To learn more, contact our faculty.
