Secondary Social Studies teacher (grades 7-12) by choosing History- Social Studies for Secondary Teachers Option as your major. You will then work to meet requirements for admission to the Teacher Education Licensure Program.Â
Students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in any major can seek the same licensure by entering our Post-baccalaureate licensure program. We strongly suggest that post-bac students have their undergraduate transcripts evaluated prior to applying to Fort Lewis College so they are fully aware of the courses they will need to take to complete the post-bac curriculum. If interested, send an email to the Director of Teacher Education who will respond with directions on how to obtain the transcript evaluation.
The Secondary Social Studies Teaching link above will lead you to the curricula for both the undergraduate History major/social studies licensure program and the post-bac program, as well as the requirements for admission to the Teacher Education Licensure program.
