Writing

Let writing be the focus of your English degree. At Fort Lewis College, you’ll acquire diverse writing experiences ­­ from a persuasive, technical and journalistic style to nonfiction and literary expression. The steady practice will prepare you for a writing career.

We offer several ways for you to hone your craft and produce a quality portfolio. You can write for our college newspaper, literary journals, campus radio and our Leadership Center.

You can also tutor in our Writing Center which serves hundreds of students. And you can work with professional writers at our Southwest Writers Institute.

Durango is home to an active community of professional writers. Our professors can tell you all about it.
