We are glad that you are interested in Fort Lewis College in beautiful Durango, Colorado. About 100 International students representing 15 nations attend Fort Lewis each year.

International students especially enjoy Fort Lewis’ small size, safe community, caring faculty and staff, individual attention, and excellent academic programs.


International students need to plan early for admission:

    First Summer Semester - February 1
    Second Summer Semester - March 1

  • How to Apply

1) Begin by completing our online application

2) Submit a non-refundable $30 application fee. If paying by check or money order, include your name. You can also pay by credit card.

3) Send transcripts from the institution that awarded your secondary school diploma. If you have previously attended any college or university, have an official transcript from all colleges and universities mailed directly to the Office of Admission. Please submit translated and untranslated copies of your transcripts. Learn more about submitting International transcripts.

  • 4) Submit a Declaration and Certification of Finances completed by a bank official.
  • 5) Send standardized test scores for the TOEFL and SAT (Fort Lewis College code is 4310) directly from the Educational Testing Service. Fort Lewis requires a minimum TOEFL score of 61 (internet-based), 173 (computer-based) or 500 (written). ACT test scores must be sent directly from ACT (Fort Lewis code is 0510).
