September

checkmark Meet with College Admission counselors. Check the Fort Lewis Admission Calendar to see when we are at your high school.

checkmark You can also contact a Fort Lewis Admission Counselor for information about the college.

 

 

checkmark Ask your guidance counselor about the ACT and/or SAT. Register online to take the test.

The Fort Lewis code for ACT is 0510 and SAT is 4310.

checkmark Contact Coaches and Athletics to learn more about playing varsity sports. Register with the NCAA Clearing House.

October

checkmarkComplete your application essay.

checkmark' If you haven't already, take the ACT and/or SAT. Register online. Contact the Fort Lewis Testing Center for information.

checkmark Complete and submit college applications. Apply online for Fort Lewis College. We review applications in the order we receive them.

checkmark Visit Fort Lewis College. Talk with students, faculty and staff. Eat lunch at the River Rock Cafe.

November

checkmark If necessary, consider retaking your ACT and/or SAT to improve your index score.

Fort Lewis requires a 92 index or higher -- a combination of your test score and grade point average -- to be considered for admissions.

checkmark Complete college applications. At Fort Lewis, you can apply online or download a printable copy of our application.

checkmark Review application deadlines for scholarships at your top college choices.

checkmark Conintue to participate in college fairs and meet with admisson counselors. Check the Admission Calendar for dates on when we are in your area.

checkmark If you attend a Colorado high school, apply for the College Opportunity Fund. This fund gives you a stipend to cover some tuition expenses.

December

checkmark Parents need to have income tax forms prepared immediately.

Once completed, you can compete your FAFSA application online.

 

checkmark Watch the mail for your Admission decision letters, which are generally sent 4-6 weeks after receiving your application.

checkmark Housing applications are available online for admitted students. If you apply early, you'll have more choices in residential halls.

February

checkmark Be sure your FAFSA is completed by our February 15th priority filing date

The Fort Lewis College FAFSA code is 001353.

checkmark Fort Lewis Office of Admission will send you a letter about your admission. It generally takes 4-6 weeks after receiving your application.

checkmark Watch the mail for your Fort Lewis College Preview Weekend invitation, which is sent to all admitted students.

March

checkmark If you haven't received a decision letter about your application, contact your Admission Counselor to see if there is missing information in your application.

The three most common missing documents include:

  • ACT or SAT scores
  • High School transcripts
  • $30 application fee

  • checkmark If we have accepted your application, Fort Lewis will send you an acceptance package that includes your PIN and password.

    checkmark If you haven't already, register to attend Preview Weekend for Admitted Students.

    checkmark With your PIN and password, you can apply for campus housing on-line. (Remember: Your password is your birthdate mmddyy. You will be asked to change it after you log in for the first time.)

    checkmark The Office of Financial Aid will send your financial aid award about 4-6 weeks after Feb. 15th or after you electronically submit the FAFSA to the Dept. of Education.

    checkmark Watch the mail for your Student Aid Report from the Federal Student Aid Programs. Return the form, indicating that you accept the scholarship.

    checkmark Still haven't applied. It's not too late. Apply Now!

    April

    checkmark Review and sign your financial aid award letter.

    checkmark Send us your certificate of Indian Blood if you are seeking the Native American Tuition waiver.

    checkmark Send us your Enrollment Confirmation Form by May 1, and we'll hold a spot for you for the summer or fall term.

    checkmark Make an appointment for academic advising and registration with the Fort Lewis New Student Advising office.

    May

    checkmark Keep copies of all forms you submit to the Financial Aid office.

     

      checkmark Notify other colleges you won't be attending. Cancel Financial Aid awarded by those schools.

    June

    checkmate You should think about how you will pay your tuition and other expenses. Fort Lewis offers an optional Payment Plan.

    The college also offers answers to these frequently asked questions about tuition payments.

    checkmark Ask your High School to send us your final high school transcripts.

    checkmark If you haven't alread, send in your housing application and deposit. You can appy on-line.

    July

    checkmark Watch the mail for your housing packet and roommate information.

    checkmark Contact your new roommate.

    checkmark Make arrangements to move in and attend New Student Orientation.
