Native American Center

The Native American Center (NAC) promotes the academic success and personal development of all Native American students who attend Fort Lewis College. It promotes success through academic, cultural, and social support. It also serves to foster cultural appreciation for the Native American culture and the wider concept of diversity on the Fort Lewis campus, in the local community and within the larger Four Corners community.

  • The Native American Center is a friendly and warm place for Native American students who come to the Center to study, socialize, participate in academic support programs, use computers, or attend cultural programs and activities.
  • The NAC offers some academic advising, academic monitoring as well as assistance with the financial aid process and career counseling.
  • Faculty members from various departments hold office hours in the NAC to provide assistance to students.
  • Computers are available to help students with their writing and research projects.
  • Mentoring and tutoring programs help integrate students into the academic and social life on campus and help facilitate better learning.
  • The NAC serves as a meeting place for Native American student clubs and organizations.

Program services are free and open to all Fort Lewis College students. The center is located on the ground floor of the Miller Student Center.
